About Us

The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners – Young Planners Forum (NITP-YPF) is a national platform dedicated to nurturing, empowering, and amplifying the voices of emerging planning professionals across Nigeria.

Established in 2017, NITP-YPF operates as a subsidiary of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), bringing together young planners within their first ten years of post-qualification practice to build competence, leadership capacity, and professional excellence.

With a presence in all geopolitical zones, state chapters, and the Federal Capital Territory, the Forum provides a unified structure for mentoring, collaboration, continuous learning, and national service within the urban and regional planning profession.

Our Vision

To build a dynamic generation of forward-thinking planners who embody professional excellence, innovation, integrity, and leadership in shaping Nigeria’s built environment.

Our Mission

To foster a network where young planners can learn, collaborate, and grow professionally. To mentor future leaders in the planning profession by developing practical skills, innovation, and ethical practice. To advance sustainable urban development through research, community engagement, advocacy, and strategic partnerships. To serve as a strong voice for young planning professionals nationally and internationally.

Our Structure

NITP-YPF operates through a National Council, Regional Coordinators, State Chapters, and specialised Committees that drive planning education, programmes, research, publications, and collaboration. This structure enables nationwide coordination and representation.
